a screw cap closure. It is fragrant, full bodied, crisp,

This is the equivalent of a Reserve bottling—and it
tastes it. It is light rust-gold color. In aroma, it is grapey
in character, while on the palate it is fleshy, and full
bodied; a fairly Pinot Gris, with good flavor and balance,
tasting of straw, tea, lemon peel, pear, and rosehips. Drink
through 2007.

The Sauvignon is more complex than previous vintages of this
wine. It is very fruity in aroma (plum, lime), with toasty
overtones; on the palate, it is supple, full, and very long
on the palate, tasting of peach, toast, lime, and grapefruit.
The unoaked Chardonnay is intensely fruity (peach, melon,
pear, plum), supple in texture, and well balanced; a wine
with unusual richness for the type, and a very long finish.
Exceptional—as is the Gewurz, which is aromatic and
very distinct (litchi nut, rose petal, toast, apple) in the
nose, and supple, full bodied, off dry, and quite long on
the palate, with a persistent finish. Delicious. Drink though
the end of 2006.

Both have screw caps. The Riesling is mildly resinous in
character, but with peach, toast, and honeysuckle character.
It is round, medium full bodied, nearly dry, and very long
on the palate, with a persistent finish. The Cellar Selection
Sauvignon is lightly grassy or herbal in style; a full bodied,
crisp, and concentrated wine, that is very long on the finish,
tasting of lemon grass, lime, green apple, and toast. Drink
through the end of 2007.

Both have screw cap closures. The standard bottling is very
elegant in character; a medium rich, finely flavored Pinot
Noir (cherry, raspberry, tobacco, vanilla, toast), that is
crisp and long on the finish. Not far from fine Burgundy.
Block 3 is richer and oakier; a full, round, quite intensely
flavored wine that is more powerful on the finish. Drink
through the end of 2008.

Von Kesselstatt was extremely successful in 2003. The Piesporter
Kabinett is elegantly flavored, off dry, light-medium bodied, and
well balanced, with a long finish. It tastes of peach, apple, and
cherimoya The Josephshofer Spatlese is wonderful: fragrant, distinct,
and medium bodied; a wine with ripe fruit (apple), citrus fruit,
and honeysuckle aromas/flavors. Medium long finish. The Scharzhofberger
is an exceptional Spatlese: both rich and fine in style; a wine
that is intense in aroma, medium+ bodied on the palate, and crisp
on the finish, tasting of apple, honeysuckle, and honeydew melon.

Medium bodied, nearly dry, fragrant, and moderately intense in

This esteemed estate is again making wines worthy of its reputation.
The QbA is fairly rich and very fruity in flavor, with medium body,

peach, with floral overtones. The Kabinett has a Vino-Lok closure.
It is round, medium bodied, spicy and fruity in flavor, and long
on the finish, tasting of honeysuckle, peach, and passion fruit.

A round, intensely flavored, well balanced wine, with depth and

is a medium full bodied Riesling, which is ripely flavored, and
fairly rich, tasting of tropical fruit and honeysuckle; long finish.

Somewhat sweet in style, but very distinct in character, medium
