Exceptional—as is the Gewurz, which is aromatic and very distinct (litchi nut, rose petal, toast, apple) in the nose, and supple, full bodied, off dry, and quite long on the palate, with a persistent finish. This esteemed estate is again making wines worthy of its reputation. The QbA is fairly rich and very fruity in flavor, with medium body, good balance, and a crisp finish. It is round, medium bodied, spicy and fruity in flavor, and long on the finish, tasting of honeysuckle, peach, and passion fruit. Drink through 2007.

Both great value Rieslings, and in very different styles. The Columbia Valley is a round, medium bodied, off dry Riesling, that is delicate and floral in character, tasting of honeysuckle and apple, with citrus overtones. 1.8% residual sugar. 375,000 cases. The Cold Creek is a medium full bodied Riesling, which is ripely flavored, and fairly rich, tasting of tropical fruit and honeysuckle; long finish. Excellent. 4,300 cases. Drink through 2006.

COLUMBIA CREST, 2004 TWO VINES, COLUMBIA VALLEY, $6-$7.50

Somewhat sweet in style, but very distinct in character, medium bodied, and long on the finish. It tastes of honeysuckle, apple, and plum. 50,000 cases. Drink through the end of this year.

EROICA, 2004 COLUMBIA VALLEY, $21-$23

Very fine Riesling; perhaps the best Eroica yet. It is medium+ bodied, finely flavored (apple, lime, apricot, honeysuckle), crisp, and long on the finish. 1.7% residual sugar. 23,000 cases. Drink through 2007

SNOQUALMIE VINEYARDS, 2004 WINEMAKER'S SELECT, COLUMBIA VALLEY, $6-$7.50
